Allosexual Allosexuality Meaning Definition
“Allosexual” is also sometimes referred to as “Allo” in short, or “Allosexuality” as a synonym, or “Allo-Sexual” with a hyphen, or “Allo Sexual” with a space, as some other forms.
What Is The Meaning Or Definition Of Allosexual / Allosexuality: The term “allosexual” is derived from “allo,” which means “all,” and “sexual,” which means “related to sex,” hence, “allo-sexual” literally means “sexual attraction or interest in all sex or genders.” The term “allosexual” or “allosexuality” is used to describe people who experience sexual attraction, and are not asexual, meaning they are attracted to at least one gender, but can be more than just one gender, if not all. It refers to norms, practices, or stereotypes in society that function under the underlying assumption that all human beings experience, or must experience some kind of romantic and sexual attraction towards other people, or else they are not normal. Allosexuality is sometimes used to normalize the experience of being asexual as it provides a more specific label to describe people who are not part of the asexual community. Allosexual, which is the opposite of asexual, is used when someone experiences a "typical or general" level of sexual attraction that is considered “normal and expected” by society. Allosexism awards entitlement to those who experience attraction and leads to prejudice against and eradication of asexual people.
